Slide show and supporting local clubs.

Running white water rivers in his teenage years was a weekend hobby that has developed into a lifestyle for Batley born Darren Clarkson-King. For more than a decade Darren has been exploring the rivers of the Himalayas. Descents of the rivers that flow from Everest in Nepal and the raging rapids spouting from K2 in Pakistan were only the beginning of the adventure. Between adventures Darren finds the time to explore close to home, now North Wales, along with Alaska, Canada, Europe along with the ever open horizon.

River descents in India, Pakistan, Tibet and Nepal are now part of his life as he runs group and bespoke adventures holidays for all abilities on these rivers and in the amazing Himalayan range.

Darren will be returning to Pennine Canoe Club to deliver a presentation on his adventures and explain how having a dream can take you to the top of the world.

Darren will be showing images and telling tales about pioneering river descents in Pakistan, high altitude rivers Tibet and the challenges of the mind in some of the most committing canyons in the world.
